I'm Doctor Jane Foster. Alice and I have been talking a bit and I asked if she would like to be my lab assistant. She is interested and has told me that she was one before to Takeshi. But as an astrophysicist, some of my work requires total darkness, which usually happens after general bedtimes for someone her age. Due to this and some other concerns, we agreed that you should be contacted to discuss more details before officially setting anything up.

Of course, I am willing to pay her for her time. It's mostly research, so there won't be anything dangerous, like there might be with chemistry.

Yes, my name is Suzaku Kururugi, and Alice lives with me and Lelouch. You seem to have considered this, which is a good thing, though I think both Lelouch and I would like to meet you first, if that's all right?

[ Suzaku hesitates a little and adds, ] for said night-time work, do you foresee taking her to and from the location, or should I be planning to pick drop her off and/or pick her up?

[ He's not going to say that Alice is afraid of the dark. He's also not going to make her deal with it alone. ]

[She's glad that he isn't outright saying no, because she is looking forward to teaching Alice about astronomy and physics, and it would solve her problem of wanting to fund a tea party too.]

I would take her to and from the location, of course. The Observatory is generally the best place to go to, but I'll let you know if that ever changes.

[Jane would likely learn of that detail quickly, but she wouldn't dream of making Alice deal with it alone either.]

Then, tentatively, it's probable that the answer will be yes.

[ Pending Lelouch's agreement, of course, but the fact that Dr. Foster is taking that part of Alice being seven years old into consideration is definitely in her favor. ]

Do you have dates for when you would first need her help for such work? We can meet before that.

I wasn't really going to start anything before I got permission, so how about tomorrow afternoon?

[ But of course. What if they decide on something and then Alice, for reasons all her own, does not like it and gets upset over what may be coming? She is very much going to be there. ]

I will talk with Lelouch. Depending on how things are, it may need to be closer to evening, if that is all right? He started a new business, and knowing when he can take time away from it is still a process of exploration.
